EStars and Astral announce Strategic Partnership
14th July 2023, Dubai, United Arab Emirates
EStars and Astral are delighted to announce a Strategic Partnership to grow educational esports in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Partnership will see both EStars and Astral working collectively on initiatives in the newly opened Astral Venue in Dubai.
An element of the Partnership will see EStars, who are a Pearson accredited centre, deliver some units of the prestigious BTEC in Esports, at the Astral Venue. Those students that register for the BTEC will also have access to the Astral facility and be able to enjoy benefits such as member discounts on gaming, retail, F&B and priority access to information about Astral tournaments and events.
Mags Byrne, EStars CEO said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Astral. It is a brilliant gaming venue and a great environment for our students to learn more about the esports industry and experience at first hand real life esports jobs such as streaming, casting and event management being carried out. It also enables the BTEC to be offered to anyone with an interest in esports in Dubai. We look forward to working on many other initiatives with the team at Astral to enhance the whole esports ecosystem in Dubai”.
Peter Lyons, Astral COO said: “Astral is Dubai’s newest venture into esports, the only facility of its kind in the city. We aim to be the incubator for emerging esports, content creation and pop culture talent. Our partnership with EStars is an exciting step for students entering the world of commercial esports. Astral isn’t just a gaming café, it boasts a custom-built tournament arena, pc lounges and console zone with many content creation areas also in development, all spread over a 15’000 Sq ft venue. Our vision fits so well with Mags and her team it was such an easy decision to partner up. We are confident that the BTEC programme will be in high demand, a curriculum that bridges the gap between casual gaming and an ever growing $300 billion global industry is what Dubai students need in order to breech the barrier into such an exciting, potential career path.”
